Education a Luxury or a Basic Necessity!

Education is never a luxury; it is a basic necessity of mankind. It forms the building block of any society. Any leadership that does not provide education as the building block of societal fabric intends to keep the people small. Such leaders want to mute the voice of the people so that the people cannot question the leaders’ action.

There is Famine in the Land but there is help on the way

There is famine in the land (Nigeria) just as it was in the days of Elisha, when Syria besieged Israel and locked all the gates to the country. The economic activities became crippled just as it is now in our land. The people resorted to eating abominable things just as is the custom in our land today. The head of a horse and the droppings (excreta) of dove became the staple food and those abominable and inedible items came at a ridiculous and an unaffordable price that only the rich of the society could afford it.

When is our warfare and what are Our Weapons of Warfare?

Many of us Christians have been wired to believe that the time of warfare is the time we go for prayers or deliverance session and that is why many of us Christians just use one or at most two weapons in our daily Christian Journey and battles. Thus majority are left defenseless and exposed to the onslaught of the devil. The most commonly used weapon is the word of God; which is the only offensive weapon. Thus we leave ourselves exposed and that is why many Christians fall on the battle field. Our daily engagements, interactions, business activities etc. are our battle field and thus the way we live our daily lives constitute how battled prepared we are. This is because in our daily activities we must be fully kitted with the belt of truth (stand therefore having girded your loin with the truth), the chest guard of righteousness (having put on the breastplate of righteousness), the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the boot of the gospel (and having shod your feet with the ...

Christianity: Are we really living or living in bondage?

One of the basic problems I had embracing Christianity as a faith was the fact that we all tend to live in the scripture without really living in reality. We have many Catholics that are more catholic than the Pope. A generation of people that want to appear holy on the outside but are dying on the inside. A friend on Facebook had the courage to share her marriage agony and the painstaking gut to call it quit when the abuse became unbearable.

What is the true worship of God: then and now

Did our forefathers actually worshiped God? Yes they did! One of the difficulties I had embracing Christian faith was the fact that most things we deemed original or good was from the ‘white man’. Thus accepting western education as well as a religion that had no root in our culture or origin seems an affront to me.

As Nigeria descends into the Abyss of Animal Kingdom

Even animal kingdoms are governed by rules. In climes where human being live and where rules and regulations are meant to be obeyed; where rulers and people in governance are governed by moral conscience and instruments of law are used only to seek justice in extreme case, the IG of police would not declare the office of the speaker of NASS vacant.

The Illusion of Morality and the Mirage of Spirituality

Poverty is a sin, poverty is a disease, poverty is a curse, poverty is a crime, poverty is this, and poverty is that. As my society descends more into a social anarchy and as more and more people fall below the poverty line, the above statements becomes the cliché, clause, phrase or even spiritual cache by which different class of people in different clone of fighting, defeating, rejecting poverty live in my society.

What really is Love?

To be candid I don’t know the meaning or the definition of love and there is no universally acceptable definition of love. When people are asked about love, it meaning or definition, different people are bound to come up with different attributes and characteristics of love. Religious people will say the whole definition of Love is God because God is love.

We are all racist

Sometimes ago, the executive Governor of Lagos, Babatunde Raji Fashola said that there was actually a clear difference between ‘godfatherism’ and endorsement. It was easy for me to accept his stand on the political situation in Nigeria because I approve of his approach to leadership and governance.
