If you fail in the days of adversity, it is because you have a pony strength.

If you fail in the days of adversity, it is because you have a pony strength. It is because overtime you have built your life on principles that cannot stand the test of time. And sometimes it is because your maker wants to prune you. He uses the forces of nature to realign you with enduring and eternal values. You have garnered some excessive 'fat' that are not beneficial to your life. You have lived on flattering words of men that cannot stand the test of time. You have been excited by those words for a season, but those words and value system make your soul and heart weak. The test comes to sift you and that you can know your real self. Prayers won't deliver you. Prayer is meant to align you with God's will, prayer does not exempt anyone from trials and temptation. 'Deliverance' won't do either. Your deliverance is that you start feeding on content that can stand the test of time. The deliverance is that you shun what is in vogue to aligning with pr...

LOOKING INTO THE FUTURE WITH THE EYES OF FAITH

BEING TEXT OF SPEECH BY PASTOR ‘TUNDE BAKARE AT THE STATE OF THE NATION BROADCAST ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 8, 2017. THEME: LOOKING INTO THE FUTURE WITH THE EYES OF FAITH. Introduction Fellow citizens of our great country, we are gathered here again at the turn of the year, as has become customary, to take a timely look at our nation – to examine its social, economic and political landscapes, to test the solidity of its value pillars, to interrogate its spiritual foundations, and to envision its future. We do this, first of all, in keeping with the obligations of that high office, the Office of the Citizen1 , then as patriots and nation builders, and ultimately as watchmen who understand the times and know what the nations ought to do, having been commissioned by God to bring direction to Nigeria, our primary place of assignment. This address, which I have titled “Looking into the Future 2 with the Eyes of Faith”, will begin with a brief overview of the year 2016 vis-à-vis t...

YOU ARE GOD; and no less

It is so easy for the reality of God to be lost even to the most ardent believer. We can be lost when we only know what people have written or said about him. It is easy to become an atheist, when we let people validate or invalidate God. Nothing validate or invalidate God. He can exist or not exist base on your perception of your own worth. The day you come to realise you is the day you know God. God expresses himself in different fashions and forms and he cannot be restricted to someone's definition or a group nomenclature.  No theology adequately captures God. The theology that once capture God loses sight of God the moment it stereotype God to one singular definition.  God is limited and unlimited based on how we let Him express himself in us. He can't be stereotyped. No one has a monopoly of him.  No religious group does. No one is good enough to monopolise Him and no one is bad enough to be unusable.  He manifest himself  in nature,  yet he is b...

Nigeria in Recession: What is The Role of the Church

BEING TEXT OF ADDRESS BY PASTOR ‘TUNDE BAKARE ON THE OCCASION OF THE 14th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF FOURSQUARE GOSPEL CHURCH, ASOKORO, ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2016. VENUE: CHURCH AUDITORIUM, 1902, YAKUBU GOWON CRESCENT, ASOKORO, ABUJA. TIME: 4:00 p.m. THEME: THE CHURCH AND ECONOMIC RECESSION PROTOCOLS. Nearly a century ago, a woman of God broke the jinx of man-made limitation and of confinement to the proverbial "kitchen, living room and other room" by doing the unprecedented. She defied all odds – socio-cultural norms, religion and gender – to establish the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. As if that was not enough, she went ahead to build Angelus Temple, an architectural masterpiece in the heart of Los Angeles, the film industry capital of America, as the place of worship for the new church. The woman, Aimee Semple McPherson, driven by nothing other than simple obedience to God, and with no connections or earthly inheritance, raised $250,000, the modern d...
