When father was leaving, he left me in care of Nigeria, my uncle.
My uncle is fifty-seven year old today. My uncle is about two decades older than me.
My uncle is irresponsible; he never for once cared about me. He has abdicated all responsibilities. Even the will he is meant to execute has been turned to his private estate.
When I saw no way out of my predicament, I decided to be as irresponsible as my uncle. I became just as lazy has he was. Since he has decided not to care about me and my other siblings, I decided in turn not to care for my clan.
I have decided that my children, cousins, nephews, nieces would suffer in turn. Uncle has continually raped me against my will in-spite of all the deprivation, so I have decided to rape my children in return. He keeps a harem of slaves that he use for his many wanton lifestyle, so I have decided to tow his line of actions
If uncle has deprived me of everything, yet he has taught me by his actions of what to do. I have followed until now………………..
We all blame our country Nigeria, but most of us do worse by what we do and don’t do. Uncle Nigeria has turned everyone of us to rapist. We look for success, money to the detriment of our neighbours, co-workers, families etc.
We blame our fathers for what they do or never did.
We blame our leaders and politicians, but we do worse in life, in our homes, in our workplace and in our communities
At this point in History, we can continue the blame game and nothing changes.
Or we can take a bold step to own the problems and take responsibilities. We have held the older generation responsible for our woes. Our children will one day start turning to us. All excuses will turn on deaf ears. They will ask one question if they ever care to listen’, What did you do to make it better’.
There is the need for a new generation. A generation ready to take ownership of the past and right the wrong by proffering solutions to the problems on ground.
Uncle needs a generation to save his face. Uncle has messed up big time but Uncle is too weak and sick to properly care. Uncle is being wheeled to the emergency room for surgery. His recovery is premised on we cleaning his mess.
We need a generation willing and ready to take responsibility for the future of Nigeria. A generation of patriot who would live their lives with the big picture in mind. The big picture is Nigeria.
We need fathers and mothers ready to build homes and raise the next generation.
We need teachers who are ready to teach, mentor and inspire the next generation.
We need writers, media experts, actors, actress who are ready to pioneer culture of responsibility, dignity and respect.
We need clergy who are ready to dethrone all heresies, kill wolves who want to milk the people dry.
We need businesswomen and businessmen who would turn the marketplace upside down. Business people who will use the right scale, make gain and make nation building the primary purpose of business.
We need patriots, elder statesmen who would guide this country jealously and midwife us to delivery, as expert doctor carefully midwives a pregnant woman to delivery.
These men can only be people tired of the status quo, those tired of the blame game. Those ready to take responsibilities at home, in marketplace in our communities.
Nigeria awaits you
Nigeria cries to you on this day
Save Nigeria, whether you are home or abroad
Rise fellow Patriots, Save Nigeria.
