The Myth-The Old Man and The New Man

The new body (seed) which Jesus resurrected with after laying to bed ( death) the sinful body or nature is not our physical body or a new physical body. The new body is the seed of righteousness which birth love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness,  kindness, faithfulness,  self-control. Those were the virtues of God bestowed  upon us at creation which make us the express image of God,  but was lost at fall. The seed  of righteousness as it produces those fruits are meant so start consuming and swallowing our old passion of sexual perversion,  hatred, jealousy,  backbiting, defamation of people's character, envy, malice, selfishness,  drunkenness,  sectarianism,  ethnic bigotry, prejudice,  pride, orgies etc. The old man that performed those unspeakable act runs contrary to the new man Jesus handed over to us. The old man can corrupt the new man but not the new seed (Jesus). Whenever we realise that we have been given the new seed to live a new life, we can consciously work in the knowledge and privileges given us to defeat the old man. We would be tempted to see the old man as benefitting,  we would be decieved to believe we cannot live free of the old man, we would be hunted by that old man but remember Jesus Christ did it you can do it.

The writer summed it up in the last verse that we can do better and those who have gone ahead of us are waiting and urging us to surpass those feats. They will be ridiculed if we cannot surpass them. They would be incomplete if we shrink in comparison to their achievements.  History does not limit us in any form and does not want us to shrink at all from such exploit. All history is about is for us to leverage on those feats and stand on the shoulders of those heroes to see further. History be...
