The Irony of Life: The Mix of Chances, Choices and Consequences V (Conclusion)

Your choices in the past have put you in deep troubles but right in those troubles someone is stretching a helping hand and willing to rescue you. He is Jesus. He knows you have messed up big time. He knows you cannot figure how to get out of the mess. He knows people have written you off. Friends and family have forsaken you but He is right beside you to pull you out. People have even taken advantage of your situation.  Come to Him. Talk to Him.
Tell Jesus how hopeless your situation is. Tell Him how you feel. Don't hold back. Tell Him the way it looks even if you are accusing Him, He understands.  He will bring you out of the miry clay and put your foot upon the solid rock and establish your going. He will fix your value system. That value system that has nothing worthy of note. That value system that has let you down over a thousand times. That value system that keeps you demoralised after each stupid act and decision. He will break you down and fix you up. He is your maker and just like any maker and more than any maker He will fix you afresh and give you a new start. If you want to look back in few years time or even when you are old without regret over your past, the first crucial choice you have to make is Jesus. Many accept Him on sick and death bed with a life full of regrets due bad choices. The choice of Jesus will be the foundation on which other choices would be made.
If you would like to accept Jesus or renew your vow, please say this prayer.
Lord Jesus, you are the rock of ages, please help me out of my messy situations.  I know you fixed me when you came in flesh and died for me. I accept that you have the power to fix my situations and I accept the terms and conditions of you fixing it. I make the decision to follow you a step at a time each day of my life. Thank you Jesus.
This write up was inspired by the message of Pastor Tunde Bakare: Chances, Choices and Consequences

The road to self discovery

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?’-Marianne Williamson

The Beautiful Ones are not Yet Born

History is a reminder of feats and exploits of the past. Date and time might sometimes have significant value but what is often crucial is the feat(s) achieved and when such feat is repeated or surpassed another history is written.   The writer of the book of Hebrew simply called those historical feats recorded in the previous chapters (11) as cloud of witnesses (12:1). Those clouds of witnesses are there to remind and urge us on that we can repeat similar feats and even surpass them. The writer summed it up in the last verse that we can do better and those who have gone ahead of us are waiting and urging us to surpass those feats. They will be ridiculed if we cannot surpass them. They would be incomplete if we shrink in comparison to their achievements.  History does not limit us in any form and does not want us to shrink at all from such exploit. All history is about is for us to leverage on those feats and stand on the shoulders of those heroes to see further. History be...

First Follow

Jesus want us to talk about Him, He wants us to lead people to Him. What we tell people about Him must be true. Our act and conduct must show we have had encounter with Him. Talk less and let your conduct show you have had encounter with Him. Now this is the real deal, you can't act it up, you will fail. Don't try to impress anybody because you will become a laughing stock. The only thing you need to do is follow Him. Follow Him until you become like Him. It is a journey and not a hundred meter dash. So don't act up as if you have no weaknesses or failings. People will see you fail and fall but it is how you rise up and follow after every fall and failure that will draw people to Him. Don't act up too holy or too perfect, just follow Him. As you follow, you will get transformed all the way. The more you look at Him and follow, the more your natural tendencies fall off. The more people see Him in you. Acting up make you look too good to b...
