Focus and Stay Focused on the Goal

The goal is the main focus the extras are just the icing on the cake or the people pleasing initiatives

One thing set Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi apart from others: as they grow in the game of football the two of them have dropped the little extras that lead to nowhere to focus more on the goal. Their goal haul is so unbelievable. And one thing has set Messi a little higher which is the ability to make it work for his team even when it is not working for him and I see Ronaldo take this challenge himself. It seems more natural to Messi to make it work for others than for Ronaldo but one great thing about Ronaldo is that he always takes up challenges. So we see the two things that set apart the two greatest player of our time and arguably two of the best of all time. When we focus on the extras we lose sight of ourselves and the goal. We act the script of others and focus on others. When we have no goal of ourselves we would definitely follow the template of others. Why do we follow the template of others? Most times because it is the trendy thing to do. Some times because we want shortcut to success. Sometimes it is because we don't really know what our focus is all about. When we focus on the main thing and goal, then we start attracting people of similar goal and vision. We stop attracting those who just seem to care about the extras without caring about the main focus.
The second part is that many talented people just like working and walking in isolation. To be candid it is possible to be successful, very successfully but the really great are those who make it happen for others when it is not happening for them. Stop excusing your idiosyncrasies and learn how to overcome your weaknesses and challenges. You can't remain your error prone self, self sufficient self, unchanging self, un-improving self, impervious self, un-trainable self, self indulging self and expect great things to happen to you and through you. Really great people learn and unlearn and they not only leverage on their strengths and opportunities but they also learn to overcome their threats and weaknesses. Don't give excuses for your weaknesses, idiosyncrasies, faults, errors etc. accept responsibilities for them, apologise for doing them and work on them. That is greatness.

The Beautiful Ones are not Yet Born

History is a reminder of feats and exploits of the past. Date and time might sometimes have significant value but what is often crucial is the feat(s) achieved and when such feat is repeated or surpassed another history is written.   The writer of the book of Hebrew simply called those historical feats recorded in the previous chapters (11) as cloud of witnesses (12:1). Those clouds of witnesses are there to remind and urge us on that we can repeat similar feats and even surpass them. The writer summed it up in the last verse that we can do better and those who have gone ahead of us are waiting and urging us to surpass those feats. They will be ridiculed if we cannot surpass them. They would be incomplete if we shrink in comparison to their achievements.  History does not limit us in any form and does not want us to shrink at all from such exploit. All history is about is for us to leverage on those feats and stand on the shoulders of those heroes to see further. History be...
