Rejoinder: Your Pay Check is not about You

A friend decided to pick me up and ask questions on this post. He felt tithing, offering and tax constitute double taxation if they are all meant to redistribute wealth and my answer was affirmative yes. It constitute double taxation and there is nobody that explained tithe and offering better than Leke Alder so you can follow and read for greater insight. I have never met the owner of the page before but I have been inspired by the raw truth on tithing on this page. Since government and church do not sync in this era, tithe now double as another form of taxation.  That is why it is now elective and proactive to pay tithe and offering if you are a tax paying citizen. I know many church people might find this hard to take but inside they are suffering. Tithe and offering is still a tool for wealth redistribution. If my memory serves me right there is no place in the new testament were tithe was mentioned but offering was collected for those in need, for people on mission work and...

God is Your Reward!

A hymn sprung from my heart this morning. I could not remember the lyrics so this prompted a google search as I had no hymn book close-by. My search yielded many results but I settled for the first two pages. After I opened and read through the hymn in the first search page,  I noticed many comments followed which was not the case when I opened the second search page-not even a single comment followed. Your predicament could be that you are unrecognized, unappreciated, undervalued or unacknowledged just like the writer of the second search page. Don't quit, just keep doing what you are doing. The good news is, GOD-our father in heaven who has all things and can do all things is your reward. Keep on and do not for any reason grow weary, for in due season, God will visit and reward you (Gal 6:9). Your season of reward has been fast forwarded and reward is just at your doorstep (John 4:35-38). Keep doing it! #Jesusthecentreofmylife

Each Day, a Manifold Newness of God

Every new day is a manifold newness of God. Because science taught us rotation and revolution, thus we take the breaking of each day as just another natural occurrence.  We call it nature, but daily, God renews the process. The manifold blessings of God is revealed in every daybreak.  He allocates time and resources and those who get a breeze of His favour still refuse to acknowledge him. The daybreak today was starless, and it was beautiful.  It was without light and yet the day did break. Whether you have something to smile about or not, the day still breaks. So your condition is not God's circumstances or pronouncements about your life. Your feelings just overtook you. Look into the sky no matter your condition and say, "God, I thank you. Though my feelings are twisted because of my pony knowledge, yet I know you are at work and my situation is at the centre of your heart". #Jesusthecentreofmylife

Test by, and for the Word

Sometimes immediately after preaching to someone,  after giving  lectures on values and morals, on spiritual things, giving encouragement etc. then and there the trials to test the word in you comes. The test for how much you believe in what you just admonished.  Or how conforming the words are to God's standard.  The only thing needed at that point is obedience.  If you can't obey it is whether you are controlled by the flesh and you just preached your wish(mix of your knowledge,  God's standard and societal expectations) or your flesh cannot succumb to the standards of God. You need God to move from wishing to doing. You can't do it alone. He has worked in you the desire to do His will so it is left to Him to workout the doing. Just let him take the wheel while you take the back sit. It is God that works in you both the desire to do His will as well as actually doing it (Phillippians 2:13) #Jesusthecentreofmylife

Your Paycheck is not about You

Are you expecting your paycheck or you have already gotten it or you are expecting any money, income or profit, gift etc. What is on your mind. Pay your bills, buy the necessary,  do some shopping,  get some gadgets ....make yourself confortable and happy etc. but alas your happiness is not in those things. The answers to your heart desire is with someone else. Someone is holding on to it and do you know what, you are also holding on to someone's prayer request. You want to spend it. Do you know the purpose of tithe and offering. It is the instrument of God to redistribute wealth. To let those who don't have to have. Do you know the purpose of tax. It is government instruments to also redistribute wealth. Those who embezzle tax, offering or tithe are under curse. So redistribute wealth today by nourishing someone.  You criticise them and you just hold on to yours and continue to sound righteous. Vat is to charge the rich for luxury to comfort the needy. So if you are mak...

Shit happens because Life is a Journey

The distance between you and your desired future is fear. And sometimes life happens. Or God happens. Or shit happens. Or the devil happens, depending on your faith or perspective of life.  You see yourself in the worst case scenario.  You just get enmeshed in those situations you feared the most; those things you dread happening to you just happen. You see fear, you live fear and then fear loses it X factor over you. You dared feared. You reacted to fear. You challenged fear and then you see fear as just another eventuals of life. There are exceptions; those who live in the shadow of fear and this is where the faith factor or perception of life comes to play. When you take responsibility for yourself it is possible to get out of it through self determination and will, but it is also possible to get overwhelmed by the situation and sometimes those type of people give up on life and just live as shadow for the rest of their lives. Life happended to them. Shit just happened and ...

Comparison, the faith killer

One thing do render my faith helpless and in limbo is the comparison I make with people in similar circumstances.  When I have a situation that I feel like taking to God in prayers and my attention becomes drawn to people of faith in similar circumstances, I tell myself what better right do I have to been to eager to escape such situation. Yeah I know prayer is not just about getting the problem out of the way yet my mind makes me think I have no bigger moral justification to think I should be seeking to be out of the situation when better people were in similar or worse circumstance.  Comparing themselves with themselves they are not wise (2Cor 10:12). The story that comes to mind is the parable of Jesus about a businessman who went out to hire workers to his field at different hour of the day yet paid them equally. The people that were hired early felt it was injustice to be paid equally. However the business owner paid the workers according to the bargain he had with them ...
