One delicate issue to get involved with in any religious society is religion. Even in the so call liberal society, it is a sacrilege. Everyone has a belief system which is sacrosanct to him or her and thus challenging such is fatal. It take superhuman courage to read a religious piece which is not a piety from the pulpit and making comment is even sacrilege to my community but in recent times, I have decided to jump the shark. Born in a Christian home, raised as one, committed at one point yet I have come to really disagree with some tenets of Christianity, especially the way it is practised in the Nigerian context. One I have problem with 'one has to be a Christian or Muslim'. Why can’t I be neutral is a big worry for me. It is more like saying I must be either member of PDP or APC. It is more like indoctrination into a brotherhood with no room for personal experience. Yeah salvation is a personal experience but I must be member of a fraternity before my faith becomes acceptable or validated. My testimony must have language recognised and acceptable within the brotherhood.
